This brightly colored workbook starts with the alphabet and moves through basic vocabulary, writing sentences, and ends with researching for an informational text. At the end of each learning section there is a section on tinkering, making, and engineering.  

There are a lot of engaging elements to this book - stickers, bright colors, merit badges, and pages that are not overwhelming with information. The information does move very fast from alphabet to essay writing, so a lot of additional instruction would have to be happening alongside this book.
