Chen’s illustrations are a real draw for avid picture book gazers. The non-fiction information on each page, though, is short, so i don’t think it will an older reader’s attention as an information source.

Capybaras are the world's largest and trendiest rodent, and beloved across the world. Wild About Capybaras! is a Giggle and Learn graphic novel full of many facts about this trendy animal. Capybaras can swim like seals, have fourteen toes, eat their own poop, and many more fun facts.
Wild About Capybaras is a quick, fun, and fascinating read for kids of all ages. I really enjoyed the graphic novel format and McCloskey's humorous approach to the facts.

A young girl takes us on safari to see elephants. She reminds us that we will want to bring a camera and a water bottle. We observe an elephant eating, and then jumping in a watering hole. The young girl also jumps in and they play hide and seek. We learn much about elephants including how they keep cool, how they love to play and swim, how much they weigh, how much they poop, and many other interesting facts.
Kerbel takes us on an informal delightful wildlife adventure through the eyes of a young girl with fun-to-read sidebars of fascinating facts about elephants. I enjoyed the warm, colorful illustrations of the playful savanna expedition.

Antczak and Fryza give a simple, practical book about how to raise your house cat.
I love the simple, but well-researched information that the authors bring to their book. An excellent resource for first-time, young cat parents.

The Ojibwe of Lac La Croix First Nation had a special relationship with the wild ponies of their area. As white people settled the land, however, the large herds were reduced to a final four ponies. In order to save them, the Ojibwe helped round them up in 1977 and smuggled them across a frozen lake to a ranch in the United States. Today the herd has grown to almost 200.
A lovely look at the cycle of almost destroying and then saving a species. Great for a science lesson about man’s effect on nature, saving endangered species, etc.

When Twilight Comes takes the reader on a walk through the special moments between day and night. The reader learns about crepuscular creatures -- familiar animals and plants that are most active at dawn or dusk such as skunks, white-tailed deer, fireflies, morning glories and more.
When Twilight Comes is a lyrical description of the secrets and surprises that unfold only in the twilight. The backmatter includes a Glossary and more information and facts on crepuscular Critters and Flowers. I enjoyed the lushly illustrated pages.
