The Truth About Wind by Hazel Hutchins, Gail Herbert and Dusan Petricic - ESSENTIAL

BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K, EL (K-3) - ESSENTIAL

AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

Jesse has a new friend – a horse named Wind for how fast it moves through the world. But a Jesse and Wind romp, Jesse feels a different sort of uneasy feeling, because Jesse knows where Wind really came from and he has to make the hard choice – to return him.

Toys get left behind and forgotten all the time, but what do you do if a beloved new toy was beloved first by someone who is looking for it? Hutchins addresses this quandary in a very believable, relatable, and tender way. I would share this with any elementary school class.
