Don't Feed the Coos! By Jonathan Stutzman - ADVISABLE

Don't Feed the Coos! By Jonathan Stutzman, PICTURE BOOK Henry Holt (MacMillan), 2020, $18. 9781250303189

BUYING ADVISORY: Pre K, EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

Coos are cute little birds - if you see them in the park - DON'T feed them or they will follow you home - all of them.  IT becomes a big problem, they go with you everywhere, and the poo everywhere, too.  Nothing you can do will get rid of them. you will have to think of a sneaky plan to leave the coos behind at the park, with someone else instead.

I was thinking Stultzman's picture book was going to be another "if you give a mouse a cookie" but it wasn't - quickly took a turn for the absurd and funny.  I love all the little one-eyed, sideways drawn birds - such cute illustrations by Heather Fox, and the kid's room at night with all the poo - worth it!  A fun anytime story, my grandkids already love it!
