The Sunshine Squad is a group of six friends who like to do kind deeds and spread sunshine. One day Mia goes with her abuela to the community garden to help in the garden spot of a neighbor who has been sick. At first Mia tries to do the work herself. But she soon learns that with the help of her friends, they get a lot more work done.
I liked the messages of service and team work. Each of the children brought a different skill or expertise to the project. The children are white, brown and black.
