Bongo, a dog, always began his days rolling out of bed, greeting sister, scratching his back on his favorite chair, and whiffing his stinky carpet. One day there was a bizarre new baby stroller in the house that interrupted everything. He didn't get his breakfast, and there was clutter all over his favorite chair. He was worried that he would never be able to do any of his favorite things anymore and he peed on the stroller. He had to go to time out. What was happening to his family?
The Unwelcome Surprise explores the joys and fears of change when a new baby comes home. I enjoyed realizing that pets can have problems adjusting and may act up until they understand and feel part of family. The illustrations are cute and expressive.
