This silly monster definitely does NOT eat children. However, as you keep reading, the reader might start to notice that kids are disappearing off of the pages. Where are they going? The monster claims to love children! He wouldn't eat them! But, when he lets out a long burp, the reader starts to see some clues as to where these children are going.
This is a fun and silly book that will make the reader want to go back to the beginning to solve the mystery. This was a great picture book. It is one that you will definitely want to read more than once. It is filled with humor and a not so nice monster at the end. The illustrations tell just as much of the story as the actual text. My five year old daughter wanted to reread it immediately and loved it.
