Imani loves to shine bright when she is dancing, skating and singing. She also loves to meet new people. However, some people don't like her because her skin is dark. Her sister teaches her that it is fear that makes people afraid. She also teaches her that her skin is dark and beautiful and that she can shine bright in all of the things she does no matter what.
This book, from a 16yo author, has a great message about being happy in our own skin regardless of what what others think or do.
