From his childhood in Spain, José felt connected to food - especially sharing that food with all around him. As he honed his skills and made his name as a chef, he never forgot that dream. When the time came, he created his own World Central Kitchen - dedicated to going to into disaster areas around the world, whether natural or human made, to feed the people and bring them comfort from the food they love. A lovely story of hope and love spread through food - as Jose says, food is a universal right. While kids won't pick it up their own, a solid support for a unit about disaster relief, cooking, and food around the world.
