Bear and Mouse have a groovy twosome going on. But now Chicken wants to join. When they reject her (I say her, because there is no waddle), Chicken decides to go her own way. Bear and Mouse have a change of heart at the right moment to save Chicken and the three revel in their new threesome band. 

Halls takes us thru Bear and Mouse's rejection and into Chicken's danger without being so scary that kids will get frightened. But they will stay intrigued. The short rhyming phrases are not my favorite, but I will happily read this aloud.
