"Not My Cat" is about a girl named Staceypants and the cat that visits her, "Not My Cat". At first, Stacypants is annoyed by the cat repeatedly showing up, as she has more important things to do. She thinks that cats are a waste of time and doesn't have space for one in her home. Over time, she realizes that maybe "Not My Cat" isn't such a nuisance after all.
This story is sweet, funny, and engaging for kids and adults alike. This book is a really sweet story about the connection between people and their animals. Almost every reader can connect as they have their own pets and animal soft spots. The ending is bright and the illustrations are bright and engaging. The main character is black.
