Yakov, a big brother to three younger sisters, loves anything to do with the stars. Unfortunately, his father wants him to take over the grocery store when he is old enough. Each day, Yakov has to take his three younger sisters to the park. Luckily, Yakov meets a girl named Aicha, who also loves learning about stars. They soon become inseparable and their friendship blooms. Aicha's father doesn't approve of this friendship and the friends are forbidden to see each other. Will their love for stars reunite them in the end?
I liked this book because Goldstyn's illustrations were almost drawn in a comic book style. The plot drew me in and taught me about our universe. Goldstyn had a sweet message that you should follow your passion in life. Yakov appears to be Jewish because he wears a Kippah. Aicha has a head covering as well.
