While Wolfgang is the one whose name is remembered as being a brilliant composer, his older sister Nannerl (Anna), performed with him on stages all across Europe for several years - until her father ordered her to stay home so that he could concentrate on Wolfgang's career. Very little is known of actual facts about Anna and her composing - but much has been surmised about her.
Ades' creative non-fiction gives life and possibles to her story - but shouldn't be taken as a non-fiction book. Lirius' illustrations bringing the music and performances to life with her flowing style. Good for a music class in elementary. Nannerl is Austrian.
