Zaha Hadid was born and raised in Iraq.  She loved the flowing rivers, marshes, and beautiful ruins found in her country. The beauty she found inspired her to create her own designs and work hard to become an architect.  Zaha's designs were so different that at first no one would build them.  Zaha never gave up and her determination helped her become one of the most celebrated female architects in the world.

Zaha's extraordinary story of perseverance and creativity is truly inspirational.  Her beautiful creations can be seen all around the world. Her designs are very rooted in nature and will allow children to see patterns and make connections to what they see in the world.  This is a great introduction into art and picture book biographies.
