Dust Bunny Wants a Friend by Amy Hevron. PICTURE BOOK. Swartz and Wade (Random House), 2019. $18. 9781524765699

BUYING ADVISORY: PRE-K – ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

This book features a lonely little dust bunny who under a chair. It really wants friends but they seem to come and go, like the ants that crawl on her, or the cat that is interested but sneezes and blows bunny away. Will Bunny ever find a friend?

This book is incredibly adorable, with the perspective of a literal dust bunny being so creative. It will take some explaining for younger readers, and they may start collecting dust bunnies after reading this, but it’s a simple and cute lesson on finding where you belong and never giving up.
