BUYING ADVISORY: EL - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Mah Jahan’s most precious possession is her parrot who can talk. When she takes a trip to India, the parrot asks her to visit his friends in the forest. What Mah Jahan learns there and its consequences are totally unexpected.
I know that Rumi is a very popular poet, but I am personally unfamiliar with his work. I do like this tale and its end very much. I think it would provide much fodder for discussion. The illustrations are quirky in a way that makes them compelling to peruse.
