In the neighborhood just over from bad kitty, there has
been a “conflict” and there are kittens who don’t have a anything. Bad Kitty’s owner decides to take in three cats,
but as cats are notoriously bad at sharing, Bad Kitty has a hard time sharing
with the new French speaking cats. Uncle
Murray takes Bad Kitty to his house and explains how we should help others when
they need help. Bad Kitty arrives home
to see that the new kittens have made updates to his cat tree that are
great.
This book has a strong message of
helping refugees. The beginning part of
the book is typical Bad Kitty (where he tries to take on the newspaper boy) but
the rest of the book is a lesson on helping others who are displaced. I’m not sure the heavy and serious discussion
of refugees really fit with the typical Bad Kitty books, It seemed forced. My kids think Bad Kitty is hilarious because of his facial expressions and Garfield-like selfishness, and that is in this book.
