This story has
a message from a mama bear to her baby bear; I will always be there for you. She
talks about all the ways she is there for the bear and that if he is ever
confused, lost, scared, she will help him in any way she can. Little lightly
rhyming sections end with ‘you can hibernate with me’. Features stunning
illustrations of the bears, forests, homes, and skies.
This is an
adorable book with a heartwarming message. The artwork is stellar and large
enough to share with a group. It would be a discussion starter for mother’s day.
My only qualm is that young readers may not know what hibernating is quiet yet.
This is a key part of the book. If they
do know its meaning, it might make the story even more confusing. Why would
they go to sleep for the winter ever time the baby bear is lost or sad or just
needs his mom? I could see kids taking it literally. That being said, its just
heartwarming and I adore this book. Would also make a great gift for a new mom.
