Content: G

BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3), EL  - ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

Ella's mom is a fairy! She looks and acts like a regular mom, but a few magic words and her cell phone turns into a computawand, she has wings and can cast spells. The problem is, Ella's mom is still learning to be a fairy and she isn't very good - in fact, most of her spells go terribly awry.

Sophie Kinsella's first children's book is sweetly silly and so cute! The magic words are a bit silly "Cupcakeridoo", "Rewinderidoo" etc. but there's fun in reading these made up words, so I believe the target audience will find them delightful. Marta Kissi's illustrations are great and add so much to the story. Looking forward to book 2!
