Because of his training as a navy pilot, Alan Bean was also chosen to train as an astronaut to land on the Moon. After all of his experiences, he yearned to show the world the beauty of what he saw and experienced and knew that the grey and white photographs just didn’t do the Moon justice. Using is artistic eye and training, he used moon dust, his tools from the voyage, and his imagination to bring the Moon to life.
Whether teaching about missions to the Moon or talking about art, there are several places this could fit into the curriculum.
