This is part of the World of Reading Level 1 collection and is based off of a Disney Junior show called “Puppy Dog Pals”. In this story two pug friends go from animal to animal asking where their ball is until they find it back at their own house. Every few pages there is an informational text box with a fact applicable to the story.
This was the perfect reading level for my first grader. He had never seen the show, but enjoyed the book and even tried to find the show after reading it. I suspect the show may be a little young for him, making this a bit of a disconnect for the book between reading level and interest, but a more advanced younger reader would enjoy this book.
