BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3), EL - ESSENTIAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
In first-person text, a young girl catalogues what it feels like to have a voice that always whispers that you aren’t good enough. This voice is only silenced when a gentler and kinder voice learns to speak louder. And when that kinder voice takes over it can spread to other people too.
This book is a fabulous conversation started for a very important topic. My kids were thrilled to hear their own experiences with a voice of doubt in this book. I do not love the illustrations, but I can look over a lot of things to be sure that students have access to this language on how to live a happier life.
