This book tells
why letters are so great- they forms words and stories and allow you to write
and to read. There are many different kinds of words; limber words, slippery words,
and more. Large simple illustration accompany.
This is a great book for a teacher to read to students before they begin to study letters and
spelling. There might be some laughs at some silly words including several made
up words. It could be followed by a creative activity like what are some brave words? strong words? shy words? I don’t think a child would enjoy this book on their own, its just
not enough of a story. Some of it is just downright odd –like “Noodles are
quiet but they think deep thoughts”. I would hate to try to explain that to the
child with the inevitable “Why?”
