Paul and his mother and father live in a very tall tree in a pretty park. Every day, Paul stops at a bakery to pick up 3 rolls for dinner. One day on his way home he meets a fox, swinging on a swing. The fox talks him out of one of his rolls, but Paul is happy to share. The fox is not there every day, but when she is, they have a grand visit, exchanging stories and life lessons. They become good friends, but then, one day, Paul's father announces they are moving to a bigger city. Paul is sad and will miss the fox very much, but Paul's father reminds him "Good things come to those who wait".
Originally published in Lithuanian, this 2019 Batchelder Picture book winner, is full of great advice about friendship, life, telling stories and hope. The illustrations are great and the story was sweet.
