Yu'er lives with her Grandpa in Beijing. This is a graphic novel collection of 4 stories about them. Although she walks with a crutch, she's determined to be a competitive swimmer, but when none of the training pools will take her, Grandpa thinks of a great idea! When some bullies tear a wing of a butterfly, Yu'er meets a boy who introduces her to Bug Paradise - and he looks a lot like a boy version of Grandpa. Grandpa was a mailman in his younger days, and he collected stamps, so when he saw a stamp he was seeking, he hand delivered the envelope and got a lot more than he bargained for. Grandpa's friend ol' Pumpkin is an angry artist, can Yu'er and her grandpa turn things around for him?

All the stories seem to be touched with magic! Maybe it's a dream or a wish but it's a great idea. The illustrations really bring the story to life. The relationship between Yu'er and her Grandpa is darling, she has great friends and a terrific attitude. A great choice for an elementary library.
