Young Arlo loves books and is dismayed when the mayor bans and destroys all books in the town. The power of story and writing cannot be forever destroyed, however, as Arlo discovers when he begins writing his own stories. A tree sprouts from the ideas and grows new books which spread, yet again, through the town and make a bigger impact than ever before.
This is a wonderful love story to books, stories, ideas, and the love of reading. The illustrations are incredible and add so much to an already great tale. This is the sort of book teachers should read aloud to their students and then discuss. Its also the sort of book adults will love gifting to friends who love to read. Overall, a real winner!
