BUYING ADVISORY: EL – ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

Meville Dewey loved efficiency and organization – so much that he even took the excess letters out of his name. Dewey used his passion for organization to make libraries more accessible to everyone and started the school to train librarians.

Say what you want about Dewey – he did something very important for the accessibility to information. O’Neill breezy voice and Fotheringham’s dynamic illustrations bring the controversial figure to life in a way that anyone can relate to. Librarians who use units on the Dewey Decimal System will welcome this to add to their teaching.
