When Masha goes a little too far into the forest to pick berries for the family, she is tricked by a bear who takes her to his den, rather than "home." She cooks and cleans for the bear for a while until she figures out a great plan to escape.
I did love this retelling. Fully illustrated in color on every page by Melanie Williamson, the story is engaging, exciting and the perfect long for a really nice bedtime story. Sold in a set called "Stories From Around the World, 4 tales of Persistence & Grit"
