Mari's mom is making a sign that says "Love is Powerful" to participate in a women’s march following some negative things the president had said regarding women. Mari thinks that no one will see their sign, but mom insists that love is powerful, and if they do this, the world will know hear this message. When Mari sees the massive crowd of people, she doubts even more that anyone will hear or see their message, but she sits on her mom's shoulders and she holds up the sign. When Mari begins yelling “love is powerful", people close by begin chanting with her. The chanting spread until the entire march of women all chant together.
Love is Powerful has a wonderful message. It not only emphasizes that positive messages can spread and uplift, and that love is powerful, but it also teaches children about speaking up and letting their voices be heard. To me, this book is more about standing up for your beliefs and that positive messages of love are needed. Even the smallest voice can ring loud if it is filled with truth. Based on a true story.
