A mother has cancer. When she gets her diagnosis, she comes home with a magical creature which represents strength. The book goes through the journey of the child and mother being together through her illness with her magical creature. The mom dies, and the creature stays behind, comforting the child and giving him some of his mother’s strength.
Lasting Love is a beautiful story offering comfort to children who have to experience a parent with a terminal illness. It is simple in text, yet still quite powerful. The artwork is beautiful. The author of the book has young children and experienced a diagnosis that was supposed to mean the end of her life. She wrote this book as a hope to comfort her children through her hard times, as well as after she passes.
