AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

Little Lamb loves to play games. He wants to beat his dad, but whenever he plays with dad, he loses. Dad plays straight and will not let Little Lamb cheat. Lamb thinks this is unfair. He thinks dad should let him win because he is young. Mom and dad teaches Little Lamb how to set a goal and to work hard for it. Little Lamb works and works. He practices and he practices. Finally he feels ready to play dad again. Will all his hard work pay off?

Little Lamb shows that he has grit and stick-to-it-iveness. I love the bright illustrations in this picture book, and also how it is written. The book is written in rhyming verse and this makes it a fun read. I love how it teaches a valuable lesson we all have to learn. You need to set a goal, then work hard to achieve that goal. Do not give up even if it takes a long time. There is great satisfaction, and lots of feel-good feelings at a job well done. This one is a keeper! I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did.
