Carlton Crumple is the creature catcher for Shady Plains. He has crafted a super machine (cobbled together from his parents' lawnmower and vacuum cleaner) and is on his way to save everyone from the Tot Bot invasion.
This book is crazy. The storyline is frenetic. The illustrations are bold and busy. Kids will love it. It is wild and fantastical and sounds similar to just about every story I hear my students tell each other when they create their own narrative plots. Although the vocabulary is sometimes challenging, children from about age 7 will be able to read through the book and still be sufficiently sucked into this wacky tale of good versus evil.
