This isn't a travel-guide, but rather a non-fiction book of facts about France. The treasure quest is for hidden pictures and interesting gems of information to be found on each page.
I learned many new facts through reading this book. The cartoon-like illustrations belie the amount of information in the book, as does the board-book design. It is well-constructed for little hands but filled with loads of information for older or more inquisitive readers. There is quite a contrast between the look of the book and the amount of information contained in it.
