Callum, Emmy and mom hear a big "bump" on the window. By the time they get outside the bird that hit the window is trying to get up and fly away. Many birds are not as lucky as that bird. That night they read all they can find on birds. They find out that windows look like the sky to the birds. There aren't as many birds as there used to be. Learning all they can they go about making a bird friendly back yard. They build bird houses, set out a heated bird bath that will not freeze in the winter. They make their yard into a sanctuary for birds.

What a neat story! We love to watch the birds in our back yard and we have a bird friendly yard. It was fun read about all the ways we can help birds by making friendlier yards for them. It will be a great way to get children excited about making a difference. The illustrations are gorgeous and go really well with the story. It is a beautiful book. Enjoy!
