Third grader Ben Yokoyama has opened up another fortune cookie which reads, “Good things come to those who wait.” Taking the fortune seriously, Ben stops doing everything, like chores, homework, and even facing the truth. Instead of good things, Ben seems to be in increasing trouble. Another fun read. You do not have to read the first book to be able to jump right into this one. Relatable themes of friendship and change make this relevant. Ben’s relationship with Walter, the strange kid in class, brings depth to the story. The illustrations add to the storyline for an entertaining ride.
