Shelli takes her dog Barnabus on a walk every day. And every day, Shelli is too shy and nervous to say hi or strike up a conversation with the people they meet along the way. Shelli has the opportunity to learn from her animal friends and their examples of talking with and engaging others in friendly greetings.

Many children will be able to relate to Shelli's struggle with overcoming shyness. This book is a great way for someone to see that they are not alone in this, as well as to learn different ways to interact with others, make a plan for saying hello, and taking first steps toward breaking out of one's shell.
