BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K – ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
Sabrina is a chicken on a farm who dreams of being at sea. Her dream becomes reality. Then she realizes how good it is to have experiences, but also how good it is to be home again.
This is a short and sweet story with a good message. The words are simple to read, with cute illustrations. Some of my third-grade students had this to say about the book: "I loved it because normally chickens and farm animals don't go to sea or have dreams, so that was good to think about," "I really liked this book because of the personification in it," and "I like it because of the illustrations of the chicken."
Keri, elementary school teacher and her third-grade students
