A rabbit asks a
bear many times the question Why? Bear does his best to answer, but after a
while he gives up and tells the rabbit he doesn’t know why, then he heads home.
Rabbit has to decide why bear should stay.
The whole tone
of this book is kind of dour, the characters and color schemes are just kind of
down. Many children will relate to asking the question why over and over. The
bear eventually gets frustrated, as I am sure most parent s do, but going away
is a pretty big reaction, I don’t think young readers, especially pre-K would
like to think their parents might leave if they ask Why too many times.
