Duck runs
through the farmer shouting Duck at all the other animals. Each of them
misunderstand Duck in their own way, for example Horse is pretty upset by being
called a Duck when he is actually a horse. Eventually Duck speaks up and
clarifies what he has meant to say, but its too late. Features large bright
illustrations.
The artwork is
fantastic and the characters convey a lot of personality. The story, while
personality irritating to me, could be fun for young readers learning about similarities
and differences between animals. The ending is a surprise, but not one that I
think could have been avoided had the farm animals actually ‘ducked’.
