Every summer a boy and his family rent the same house on the beach. The boy's friend, Chicken Smith, always rents the one next door. But this year, Chicken Smith is late. While the boy's sister tries to show him various things along the beach, he just waits for Chicken Smith. Where is he, and when will he finally arrive? The boys are missing out on everything!
While the lesson about seizing the moment instead of waiting around is a good one, I fear it may be missed on many children due to the slow and somewhat meandering plot, as well as the melancholy tone.
