BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K, EL (K-3) - ESSENTIAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
Iris wants to take her lion along to her Auntie Sarah’s for Christmas, but she can’t find a way to hide him for the train trip, so instead she’ll just have to take her little stuffed animal lion instead. But when the family leaves, the lion decides to follow. A simple mistake on the train send shim searching for Iris instead.
Oh how cute! The initial premise is so absurd and then carried off so well, that is it a delight to read. Kids will squeal and give that look of amazement. Then they will ask for a lion of their own, of course!
