Upsy-Daisy, Baby depicts ten places around the world from Afghanistan to northern Canada, Peru to West Africa. Babies are carried in slings, on shoulders, in backpacks, on hips, in baskets, and in loving arms. A mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or sibling lovingly carries a baby from place to place.

Upsy-Daisy, Baby is a celebration of cultural diversity focusing on how babies from around the world are carried by their loved ones.  Although the phrase, “Upsy Daisy” is used on every page, the illustrations show just how unique and special different cultures are around the globe.  We loved the cut-paper collage illustrations!  Each page tells not only a story in written word but the illustrations share much more of the culture being represented.  The colors have a warm tone and easily draw the reader into each page.
