Sweet Pea, 13yo, can’t deal with her divorced parents. Divorce is bad enough, but her mom had the bright idea of father buying an identical house just two doors down – only Flora Mae, the local “Dear Abby”, separates them. Now Sweet Pea has to divide her weekly between the two houses. Things perk up when Flora Mae asks Sweet Pea to help her get her letters and turn in her columns while is out of town. But it must remain a secret! Which becomes a problem when she recognizes the hand-writing on one of the letters.
There are many more fun details I could go into with Sweet Pea’s story. It is just adorable – Sweet Pea would be great to follow into young adulthood, for sure!
