On the day of the town Christmas tree lighting, it starts to snow hard and people and animals are stuck all over the roads. Tractor Mac and Farmer Bill head out into the snow and dig out the horse dragging the tree, a dump truck, and the bus full of people heading the lighting ceremony.
This is a very traditional type story with traditional illustrations and the classic story of saving the day. My second grader loved it and I think a lot of young readers are into tractors and will enjoy this wintery story. There is nothing especially brilliant or literary about it, but it is an enjoyable story.
