The Berenstain Bears' offer you a cookbook disguised as a picture book! Each section is themed around a holiday--Easter, Thanksgving, Christmas, etc--and begins with a one-page story-like blurb with the Bear family. Four or five "family" recipes follow with pictures and easy-to-follow instructions--Mama Bears Turkey and Vegetable Soup, Honey Bear's Favorite Mashed Potatoes, etc.
This is a fun, if basic, cookbook for kids. None of the recipes are going to blow anyone out of the water. I have labeled it public only because of the overt Christian message throughout the book. Christian scripture is quoted in each blurb in an evangelical tone that felt a little too pushy in its message to make this appropriate for school shelves.
