Dr. Emma takes us through her week as a veterinarian. Follow along as Dr. Emma explains the instruments she uses and how she treats guinea pigs, dogs, and even makes a visit to a farm and the zoo to take care of animals there.
This book gives a great overview of the veterinary profession and uses simple pictures to introduce vocabulary like examination table, stethoscope, prescription, and veterinary record.
What really makes this book stand out from other books introducing professions is the way it highlights Dr. Emma spending her Sundays reading about animals and veterinary medicine. The vocabulary on that page includes veterinary books, journals, and her veterinary school diploma. Dr. Emma is a smart, educated, driven and kind female role model.
