Elliot, a polka dot elephant, and mouse are in search of the Christmas spirit when they find a lost letter from a girl to Santa. They try to give it to Santa, but he has left the mall, so they open the letter and realize exactly what they should do. Elliot and mouse head to the letter writer's house and give her a big hug and we see that the letter said she was asking Santa for some good friends.
This is a sweet story about the illusive nature of the Christmas spirit and how it is best achieved by connecting with others and being kind. I’m not crazy about the polka dots on Elliot, I think it makes him look infantile, but other than that the illustrations are charming and inviting.
