Anna’s friend Zane wrote her a letter and included a map. Except Anna thinks it should look different, so her dad gives her some paper to make her own map. She then learns all about maps and how they work.
This picture book is a great way to introduce map-making for younger grades. I liked how the authors showed different kinds of maps and different parts on a map, but kept it simple and easy to understand. This would be a great supplemental material book for an informational writing unit.
