A potato shows up on a family’s couch and the father of the house refuses to clean it up. Everyone makes a mess around it unit the father loses his patience and cleans up and serves french fries for dinner.
It is possible I missed the point of this book, but I found it strange and unsatisfying. I’m all for having stay at home dads and working moms in picture books, but the traditional role reversal felt awkward given the dad’s inability to handle the potato on the couch. The illustrations are also flat and unengaging.
