BUYING ADVISORY: Pre K - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
There are a lot of sounds in the jungle - can you guess who is making them? Roar, growl, grr and scratch - all sounds made by a tiger! What about croak, grunt, ribbit, and hop? That's right, a frog! The child encounters a 2 page spread of sound words, followed by a two page spread of illustrations making Roar, Roar, Growl, Growl a fun guessing game.
I loved so many things about Shand and Vagnozzi's onomatopoeia book. I loved that the animals had multiple sounds. I love whatever the pages are made out of, they don't tear, so a preschooler can enjoy this book without the worry of torn pages. It's also a good size, would easily fit in a purse or in a bag - it won't take many readings before the child can play with this book on their own.
